Marina beach is one of the longest beaches in Asia. It stretches for about 12km long. The added beauties for the beach are the buildings of university of Madras, Senate-House, Chepauk Palace, Presidency College, P.W.D office and Ice House located on its drive. The beach will have a glowing beauty at its dusk. Especially the traffic is on ever increasing these days.
Motorists find it very difficult to park their vehicles. The pollution level is increasing. Also these days, people complaint about the mischief activities by the couples in the beach. Most of them do not have any descency and portray themselves in a bad manner. They hug and kiss each other in the public place. Also prostitution is on its increasing note. The police are under regular survelliance.
The government has taken serious efforts to bring the ill effects and the beach is under renovation. The side parks are being built and parking slots are also being constructed at a cost of several crores. Everybody hopes that it will get a new look once when the work is done.
